Nope! Only the person who paid needs the app. Everyone else just opens a link in their browser, enters their name, and taps what they had.
We use advanced AI to extract every item, quantity, price, tax amount, and total from your receipt photo. It works in 2–5 seconds and handles most North American receipt formats.
Tax and tip are split proportionally based on what each person claimed. If you had 30% of the food, you pay 30% of the tax and tip. No more equal splits on unequal orders.
If multiple people claim the same item (like a shared plate of nachos), the cost is automatically divided equally among everyone who claimed it.
Splits is free to use. We plan to offer optional premium features in the future, but the core split experience will always be free.
For now, Splits shows each person what they owe and suggests payment via Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or Apple Pay. In-app payments are coming soon.
